Protect Yourself from Energy Vampires!

by Lisa Cybaniak

Lindsay Banks works with energy every day, channelling messages from the other side in her role as a medium. You don't want to miss her insights on protecting your energy!

Have you ever been in a situation where your energy level seemed to changed when someone else walked in the room? Perhaps you started a conversation feeling happy and content, and left it feeling tired and sad?

Today we’re talking about the importance of grounding your energy to protect yourself from negativity.

Lindsay Banks is an Author, Intuitive Energy Healer, Speaker, Channeler & Manifester knows exactly what it’s like to need to energetically protect yourself. Lindsay is supporting people on their spiritual journey and helping them to reunite with their inner selves.

She works with energy every day, giving tarot card and past life readings in her role as a medium. She’s been channelling the Pleiadeans, a type of higher being, for many years now, and even channelled them in order to write her book, “A Gentle Hug for the Soul”.

Meet Lindsay Banks

It wasn’t always this way, so how did Lindsay become the spiritual being she is today?

In 2016, Lindsay lost her best friend Lisa to cancer. The grief hit her hard and she came to realise how emotionally numb she’d been for so many years. A full-time mum to two children, living a routine existence devoted to doing everything for everyone else and nothing for herself. “Groundhog Day” was her reality.

Finding her way back to Reiki, along with an Access Bars taster session, left her feeling like her personal hard drive had been reset. Like what so commonly happens with energy work, a change had shifted something major within Lindsay. She went home and set her first boundary with her husband, something she had never done before. This new mindset led to a snowball effect, and by 2017, she was dealing with the aftermath of divorce.

Now Lindsay has her own business and a new purpose in life: to connect people with their spiritual side, whether that’s through pop-up meditation days, online mentoring or her second book which is in the works.

Are you ready to learn Lindsay’s top tips for grounding yourself in order to protect your energy to help you cope with difficult situations and people in your life?

Let’s dive right in!

Visualise grounding your energy

Ground yourself by placing your feet flat on the floor, visualising roots from your feet penetrating right through the Earth, anchoring into an orange ball, whose energy travels up your legs and out of your head into an orange bubble surrounding you.

Armour to protect your energy

This is another visualising activity that Lindsay often uses with her children. Literally imagine yourself putting on a full set of body armour, including the helmet.

Archangel Michael

Lindsay tells her children to do this very simple yet effective thing: Ask for help. Very specifically, ask the archangel Michael to help with the situation you are facing.

I’ve got to admit, I ask for help for so many different things, from easily finding a parking space to speaking eloquently and precisely in a certain situation. And I’ve never been let down – not once.

Go barefoot

Go outside in your bare feet and stand on the grass or walk with your toes in the sand. This is an incredibly effective way to ground your energy, and even release excess energy you may have taken on throughout your day. And it has the bonus of feeling good!

Crystals to block negative energy

There are literally thousands of different crystals out there that deal with a vast array of energies. Lindsay recommends you start using them – any of them, really. If you’re new to crystals, do what Lindsay does. She places black tourmaline at her front and back doors to block negative energy from entering your home.

Smudging

Smudging yourself, your family and your home with a sage stick will also protect and cleanse from negative energy. I like to say an affirmation as a mantra while I do this, to set the intention for what I want from this cleansing. My family gets a kick out of this and will report back anything from sleeping better and feeling calm, to having improved concentration. I usually find any blockages that were hindering me become crystal clear – enough for me to purposely remove them.

Only take on what’s yours

When you’re dealing with others, especially when you notice their energy is affecting you, take a moment to recognise what is their stuff, and what is yours. You don’t have to take on someone else’s bad mood or problems, no matter how they are treating you. I know this can be difficult, especially when their negativity seems to be directed straight at you, but rest assured, it IS about them. Even when you’ve done something to upset them, they are only upset by your actions or behaviour because they are allowing themselves to be. Of course, that goes deeper to what they think and feel about themselves. So, chances are, this isn’t about you, so don’t take it on.

More from this episode

Lindsay and I talk about so much more in this episode, from what spirituality means to her and her spiritual journey using Reiki and Access Bars, to what it feels like to channel energy with messages from the other side!

I’ve got to admit, that fascinates me! I’ll be completely honest with you, as soon as we stopped recording, the first thing I said to Lindsay was, “Lindsay, I NEED a reading from you!” Honestly and truly, she’s preparing for my reading as we speak!

I’ll leave you with a question which we clarify in this episode: What’s the difference between putting your guard up and putting up a protective barrier?
