What does the term ‘looking within’ mean to you? To me, it’s about having an awareness of the power we each have in our lives. Rather than focusing on outward influences, casting blame, looking for a knight in shining armour, and diminishing ourselves into victimhood, looking within means we’re aware of our own strength to make the changes we seek.
Today, we’re talking about looking within in order to get through difficult times in our lives. After all, if we are focusing on the negative, what we don’t have, how others have hurt us, and how other’s will lift us up and save us, then it’s likely because we’re going through, or went through, something very difficult.
Yadiksha Hari is a teacher, guide and ritual master in the Modern Mystery School in the lineage of King Solomon. These lineage teachings and healings opened doorways within Yadiksha to find her gifts, uncover her passion and life purpose and find herself through letting go of everything that did not serve her. This allows her to live her life to her fullest potential!
Meet Yadiksha Hari
Formerly from South Africa and with a medical background in cardiac physiology, Yadiksha explored several methods of healing to gain joy, balance and empowerment in life after realising she was burning out. She now serves humanity by handing down tools and teachings to women’s shelters and hospitals internationally.
And she’s with us today to share her journey to self-discovery, along with her tips to looking within to get through your difficulties.
So, let’s dive right in!
Looking Within to Believe in Yourself
Yadiksha’s number one tips for getting through difficult times is to believe in yourself. Easier said than done sometimes, right? I mean, to believe in yourself in difficult times, you first must believe in yourself!
I remember a long period of time in my life when I didn’t believe in myself at all, so to tell me to do so when I was experiencing difficulty wouldn’t have been helpful. How would I even know where to begin?
Well, Yadiksha has you covered, of course. When you realise you’re struggling, take a breath and ask yourself, what would your empowered-self do or say?
This one question allows you to shift your perspective and regain your strength, so take the time to ask it, and hear the answer.
Never Give Up
When we face difficult times, giving up is a common responsive feeling. Sometimes, we just want to throw in the towel.
But Yadiksha recommends you shift your focus to what might be tomorrow. This is the same as shifting your focus to what you want more of in your life, rather than what you don’t want anymore, or on what you lack.
There is great power in focusing on what you do want, rather than what you don’t. And by focusing on what tomorrow might bring, you’re sending out a giant message that says you’re expecting better and bigger things.
Today may have brought pain and negative emotions. The goal isn’t to ignore those in order to focus on better feelings. Rather, you want to allow yourself to feel the emotions, express it in a healthy way, make peace with it and move on. The moving on part is where you shift your attention to the possibilities all around you.
Looking Within
Finally, when struggling through difficulty, Yadiksha recommends you focus on looking within. Not just at your own power as we did to believe in yourself, but in your sense of a Higher power; a knowing that there is something better out there.
Depending on where you are in your spiritual journey, that something better will look different. For Yadiksha and myself, that something “better” is part of us. It is our Higher Self, connected to all living things, as we all come from Source.
It doesn’t matter if you believe in the same, or not. What matters is that you feel it in your bones – there is something Higher.
