Manifest What You Want

So, you’ve put some effort in to manifest something you really want… say, a new car to replace your run-down, constantly in for repairs old car. And…. Nothing. What’s gone wrong? Are you simply unable to manifest what you want, are you unworthy, are you doing it wrong?

Surely to manifest something, you just think about it, right? Wait. Does that mean I could manifest what I’m thinking in the back of my mind right now? Oh man, I hope not, because I was thinking about how I missed that meeting because my dog puked all over the carpet and while I was cleaning it up, I stuck my hand right in it.

I definitely do NOT want to manifest that back into my life!

If you’ve been listening to this Spiritual Solo Series, then you’re well aware of my beliefs in the Universe, a Higher power, and in a Higher Self. So, it shouldn’t be a surprise to you that I also believe in the art of manifesting, and that it is MUCH more than just thinking about what you want.

In fact, I’ve learned that I’ve indeed, as have you, manifested my entire life. That’s right, everything in my life now has found its way to me through my past thoughts. And yes, that means back in the day when I lived in total despair, I too was a master manifester. Of course, I didn’t realise it, and neither may you.

Understanding how to properly manifest has made such a difference in my life, allowing me to create the life I have now. I’ve launched a brand new online course teaching you exactly how to do it too: Manifest Like a Boss!

Over the years, I’ve come to understand, mainly through reading books like Abraham-Hicks’ Ask and It is Given, that to manifest, there are 3 main components that you must understand: Ask, Surrender, and Receive.

Learn to Ask for What you Actually Want

The obvious first step to manifest what you want is just that – you need to figure out what it is you want. That may seem daft, I mean of course you’re asking for what you want, right? Let’s take that car example we spoke of earlier.

What is it you’re focusing on when you think about wanting a new car? Is it the fact that your current car is old, run-down and constantly in need of repairs so a new car would solve all that? Or, is it that driving your new car will make you feel success and proud; when you look at it you’ll fill with glee knowing that this amazing car is yours?

Do you see the difference? The need for the new car may very well be that your old car is no longer reliable, and you simply don’t feel spectacular in it. But in order to manifest what you want, you need to focus on WHAT YOU WANT. Do you want a run-down unreliable car? No!

Focus Matters

Of course, you don’t want to manifest another run-down unreliable car, any more than you want to keep your existing car. This is where you can use your negative, or less than desirable experiences to help you get clear on exactly what you want.

Life happens. Your car has broken down before and it may again. If you insist on focusing on the breakdowns and how they make you feel unsafe, anxious and angry, and that it’s embarrassing to drive such a car, well that’s what you’re focused on. And that means that’s exactly what the Universe will bring to you.

The same goes with absolutely anything else you’re focused on. But that’s the key here – focus. Just because you have a thought doesn’t mean you need to worry about manifesting it. The Universe will hear your predominant thought, or rather, your predominant feelings, which we’ll talk about more later. For now, just take solace in the fact that if you have a negative or limiting thought, dream or conversation, there is plenty of time to get back on track to focus on what you do want to manifest.

You Ask, the Universe Provides

This is where surrender comes in. The Universe hears your thoughts – or really, the Universe is feeling the energy vibration you’re giving off. And that energy vibration is directly linked to your emotions, which in turn are linked to your thoughts.

Have you ever had one of those days where nothing seemed to go right? Heck, you may have had an entire year or decade like that – I know I have! This happens because the Universe is answering our call. In fact, we manifest every part of those experiences, because of the information we’re sending to the Universe.

Manifesting the Negative

You see, the Universe doesn’t understand or work in negatives. It is simply providing you with what you’re asking for. So, if you’re focused on all that is going wrong in your life or business, then that is the energy vibration you’re giving off. When you say, “I don’t want to this crappy car anymore”, the Universe doesn’t comprehend the “don’t” part of that sentence. Think of it like this, when you’re focused on what you don’t want – not having the crappy car – all your focus, and therefore your energy, is focused on what it feels like to have the crappy car. It’s no wonder then that the Universe responds with more of the same.

When you Manifest your Life

Here’s a real-world example of mine. When I was in my teens and early to mid-twenties, I felt like I was worthless, useless and that nobody would ever love me. This began in my childhood as a direct result of a decade of child abuse. Even a decade after finding safety from that abuse, this mantra had become a deeply rooted belief.

I saw my entire world through this lens. No matter what happened around me, I saw evidence that I was worthless, useless and unlovable. I kept trying to manifest my way out of this. Now, I did eventually succeed and actually did manifest what I wanted, which was a different perspective and a different life. But back then, I was so focused on all the nonsense and drama I had created in my life, convinced it was out of my control, that when I attempted to manifest something, I was solely focused on what I didn’t want.

For example, I kept attracting boyfriends into my life that weren’t ready, willing or able to commit to me in a loving relationship. Yep, most of them were cheaters. Of course, every time a boyfriend would cheat, I would collect that as more evidence to support my limiting belief. And then I’d set about trying to manifest a non-cheating boyfriend, while focusing on how awful I felt, how worthless I was… you see my point.

No wonder all I attracted was the next cheater – the Universe ALWAYS provides!

The Universe is Listening

That’s right, the Universe hears, or feels everything. Whatever it is that you’re focusing on that’s creating a predominant thought and subsequent emotions or feelings, is thus creating an energy pattern that’s speaking directly to the Universe.

I attracted the next cheating boyfriend because THAT was what I was actually asking for. I hadn’t yet realised the control I had over my thoughts, actions, reactions and feelings. Heck, I didn’t realise I had control over anything – I was a victim, plain and simple.

And in revelling in victimhood, I created more victimisation. I was a master manifester, I just hadn’t figured out how to manifest what I actually wanted.

Surrender to the Universe

So, keeping this in mind – getting clear on what you want, and understanding that the Universe is going to provide you with ALL that you ask for, there’s just one thing left to do: nothing.

That’s right! In doing nothing, you’re putting your faith into the Universe and saying, “I trust you. I know you’re providing me with everything I’ve asked for, and I’m surrendering the need to try to control the manifestation. My job now is to get ready to receive.”

That means, literally stop trying to make it happen. Going forward, the only thing you need to do to complete your manifest, lays in the final step: receiving.

Receive What you Manifest

And there you have it, the final step to manifest what you want! I have to be honest; I had no idea this step was a thing back in my youth. It sounds silly, I mean of course you want to receive what you’ve asked for!

But the reality is, the Universe is ALWAYS providing what we’re asking for, which means sometimes we will be focused on the negative – all the reasons why what we have isn’t working – while asking for something else – more money, a new car, success…

Which means that the Universe will provide both. The question isn’t whether or not the Universe will hear you and give you what you want. Instead, the question becomes, what are you able to see?

Lift the Veil

It’s like a veil is over our eyes, thick enough to skew our view of the world. The Universe has placed both components of what we’ve asked for in front of us – a brand new amazing car, and a run-down unreliable car.

The veil can only show us one, but which one? Well that depends entirely upon you! Again, we’re going back to your predominant thoughts and emotions. What energy level are you sending out? If you’re able to match the energy vibration of what you asked for, you get to see it… and thus have it.

Fantastic if you’re energy matches the new car. Pretty bleak and soul destroying if it matches the crap car you hate.

The task then is to raise your vibration to match what you want in order to manifest it fully – that is, in order to see what’s right in front of your face!

Raising your Vibration to Manifest What you Want

In the book Ask and It is Given, Abraham-Hicks gives a plethora of “games” to play in order to raise your vibration. And they do call them games because the idea is to have fun. There’s no need for me to repeat everything they outline for you here, so I’ll stick with a strategy that has always worked for me and my clients.

The goal in every suggested game in the beforementioned book is to stay focused on what you want so that is what you’re open to manifest. And you complete the manifest by raising the vibration of your thoughts and emotions.

The Emotional Scale

This “game” is seriously the single greatest tool I have in my tool kit for shifting my own perspective. In fact I needed to pull this tool out just 2 weeks ago to get me out of a trigger event. It has also been featured in Gabby Bernstein’s book, Super Attractor.

The concept is incredibly simple: Reach for the next best feeling or thought. Whatever “mood” you’re experiencing, you only have access to similar emotions and thoughts. That means that when you are feeling low, it’s literally impossible for you to simply shift into feeling great.

That’s where most people go wrong – they think they should be able to just flip a switch and feel fabulous. When they hear someone like me talk about walking myself out of a trigger event in 20 minutes, they mistakenly think I just willed it to happen, and it did.

Because they struggle to do the same, each failed attempt acts as more evidence that they can’t do it, aren’t good enough, or whatever other belief they have running their show.

The truth is, if you understand the emotional scale, you can use it to climb your way out of any emotional situation to get back into alignment with the energy vibration that will allow you to remove that veil and receive what you’re trying to manifest.

The Next Best Thought or Emotion

So, the name of the game here is to simply reach for a thought or feeling that feels better than where you are right now. Allow yourself to get angry if anger feels better than fear. And go ahead and switch that to blame if that feels better than anger.

I did this in 20 minutes because it’s something I’ve been doing for two decades now. It may take an entire day to move up one level on this scale, and that’s okay. In the grand scheme of things, if it took you 30 days to shift out of a depressive episode using this “game”, would that not be incredibly fantastic compared with living in that state for months or even years?

Take your time with it and ask yourself with each thought or feeling you’re reaching for, “Does this make me feel better than I did?” If it does, go with it. If it doesn’t, keep searching. And remember, just because it’s a thought or feeling that will make you feel better doesn’t mean it’s a positive one! It doesn’t need to be – it just needs to make you feel better than you did.

Manifest Everything You Want!

In summary, you can manifest every single thing you want in life. You simply need to be more proactive about it and raise your awareness.

Get clear on what you DO want, really allow yourself to raise your energy vibration to match what it is you want, and surrender to the Universe knowing that it is providing you with whatever it is you’re trying to manifest.
